Contact Lenses
Crowder Eye Center offers the latest contact lens designs and materials. Many recent innovations have made wearing contacts more comfortable, and typically less expensive. Contact lens disinfection systems have been simplified and are much easier to use now. In many cases, we can provide same-day dispensing of your contacts from our large optical inventory.
Do your eyes thirst for comfort? For many contact lens wearers, dry eyes are very common. In the past couple of years, we have seen new silicone hydrogel lenses as well as daily disposable contacts develop to address dry eyes. These new materials dehydrate less and can deliver up to 6 times more oxygen to the cornea than the traditional hydrogel lenses.

Types of Contacts Lenses
There are two major categories of contact lenses: soft contact lenses and Rigid Gas Permeable (RGP) contact lenses. Regardless of the type of contacts that you are interested in, they require a thorough examination and fitting and a valid prescription. Within these two major categories are a number of types of lenses for solving different vision problems. These include:
- Soft Daily Wear Contact Lenses
- Rigid Gas Permeable (RGP) Contact Lenses
- Contact Lenses for Astigmatism
- Extended Wear Contact Lenses
- Disposable or Planned Replacement Contact Lenses
- Bifocal and Monovision Contact Lenses
- Specialty Contact Lenses such as CRT (corneal refractive therapy), Synergeyes Hybrid Lenses, and Colored Contact Lenses
